The Colour Orange Event Recap

The Colour Orange Event Recap

The Colour Orange is a powerful evening of truth and reconciliation, bringing together Indigenous and non-Indigenous families in a shared commitment to healing and moving forward as one community. Set against the breathtaking backdrop of Prairie skies at sunset, glowing orange fires, and the beauty of autumn leaves within the forest, the evening creates a sacred space where people gather in circle, connection, and reflection. Through an immersive Indigenous art experience, music, food, and artisan works, attendees are invited to engage deeply with culture, history, and lived experience. At the heart of the event are the courageous personal narratives of Residential School Survivors, shared with strength and honesty, creating space for listening, understanding, and collective responsibility. Around the warmth of the fire, strangers become neighbours, and neighbours become friends, as relationships are formed and Humanity is honoured in its most genuine form—through presence, respect, and shared commitment to reconciliation. Together, under the Prairie orange sky, we walk forward in unity, guided by truth, memory, and hope.
